The
China PCB Development History
The
PCB industry is widely distributed around the world, with developed countries
in the United States, Europe, and Japan starting early. By researching and
fully utilizing advanced technological equipment, the PCB industry has made
significant progress. Before 2000, the Americas, Europe, and Japan accounted
for over 70% of the global PCB production value and were the main production
bases.
In
the past two decades, with the advantages of Asia, especially China PCB, in
terms of labor, resources, policies, industrial agglomeration, etc., the global
electronics manufacturing capacity has been transferred to Asian regions such
as China PCB. With the transfer of the global industrial center to Asia, the
PCB industry presents a new pattern with Asia, especially China PCB as the
manufacturing center. Since 2006, China PCB has surpassed Japan to become the
world's largest PCB production area, with the output and output value of PCB
ranking first in the world.
As
the largest production area in the global PCB industry, mainland China's
proportion of the total global PCB output has increased from 8.1% in 2000 to
54.6% in 2021. In recent years, benefiting from the transfer of global PCB manufacturing capacity to Chinese Mainland and the impact of downstream booming
electronic terminal product manufacturing, the PCB industry in Chinese Mainland
as a whole shows a rapid development trend. In 2006, the output value of
Chinese Mainland PCB exceeded Japan, becoming the world's largest PCB
manufacturing base. However, driven by the demand growth in downstream areas
such as communication electronics, computers, consumer electronics, automotive
electronics, industrial control, medical devices, national defense, aerospace,
etc., the growth rate of the PCB industry in Chinese Mainland is higher than
that of the global PCB industry in recent years.
Data
shows that the output value of the PCB industry in China PCB reached 35.054
billion US dollars in 2020, a year-on-year increase of 6.4%. In 2021, the
output value of the PCB industry in mainland China reached 44.15 billion US
dollars, a year-on-year increase of 25.7%. In 2022, the output value of the PCB
industry in mainland China reached 45.5 billion US dollars, a year-on-year
increase of 3%.
China
PCB enterprises are mainly distributed in the Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River
Delta, and Bohai Rim regions, which have strong economic advantages, location
advantages, and talent advantages. However, in recent years, due to the
continuous increase in labor costs, some PCB companies have gradually shifted
their production bases to inland areas, such as Jiangxi, Hunan, Anhui, Hubei,
etc., in order to alleviate the operational pressure caused by the increase in
labor costs.
However,
compared with advanced PCB manufacturing regions such as Japan, the proportion
of high-end printed circuit boards in Chinese Mainland is still relatively low,
especially in terms of packaging substrates, high-order HDI boards, and
high-class multilayer boards. According to the data, in 2021, the market size
of rigid boards in Chinese Mainland will be the largest, with 47.1% of
multi-layer boards and 15.9% of single and double sided boards; Next is the HDI
board, accounting for 16.1%; The proportion of flexible boards is 14.9%.
According
to the "Research on Development Trends and Future Prospects of China's
Printed Circuit Board Industry (2023-2030)" released by Guanyan Report
Network, the main enterprises in China's printed circuit board market currently
include SHENZHEN FASTPCB TECH CO.,LTD,SHENZHEN FASTPRINT,SHENNAN PRINT AND SO
ON.
